Meet Laura
Essex dog trainer, dog owner of four, proud mum — and the trainer who genuinely understands your life.

She's not just
a trainer.
She gets it.
Laura is an Essex-based dog trainer with over 20 years of hands-on experience — not in a classroom, but in real life. She has raised 10 dogs of her own and fostered around 15 more, all alongside a full, busy family across Essex. She has faced every behaviour, every challenge, and every sleepless night you can imagine.
She fell in love with dogs at just 15 years old and never looked back. What started as a passion became a calling. The name Tollelite is a tribute to two dogs who shaped everything: Toby and Ellie - her beloved Rottweilers, her soul dogs, combined forever in her kennel name registered with the Kennel Club.
Her approach is simple: understand the dog, understand the family, and build something that actually works in real life. Not in perfect training conditions - in your kitchen, on your morning walk, in the situations that actually matter.
"I've been exactly where you are. I know how exhausting it is when your dog makes life harder instead of better. I also know how good it can be - and that's what I'm here to help you find."
Training built on the right foundations
Balanced training, always
Laura uses a balanced approach - combining clear boundaries, positive reinforcement, and real-world accountability. Methods are chosen to suit the dog, not a doctrine.
Real life first
Training that only works in perfect conditions is useless. Everything Laura teaches is designed to hold up in your actual home, on your actual walks, in the situations that really matter.
You learn too
A well-trained dog comes from a well-informed owner. Laura doesn't just work with your dog - she helps you understand what's driving the behaviour, so you can maintain results for life.
No dog is a lost cause
After 20 years, Laura has worked with dogs others gave up on. Every dog has potential. Every family can have the relationship they're hoping for - with the right approach.
Honesty over flattery
Laura will tell you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear. Her clients respect her for it - because honest guidance gets results.
Support that lasts
Training doesn't stop when sessions end. Laura's clients know they can come back with questions, setbacks, and new challenges - because lasting results need lasting support.
A life built around dogs
Laura's expertise wasn't built in a classroom. It was built across 25 years of life with dogs - raising them, loving them, losing them, and dedicating herself to understanding them.
Benji - where it all began
Laura got her first dog, Benji, a Collie-Lab cross. Always dog mad, she'd wanted one her whole life - and that love of training started right here.
Dog grooming apprenticeship
Laura completed a dog grooming apprenticeship, deepening her hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds and temperaments.
Family life begins
Laura became a mum and started family life - raising children and dogs side by side, understanding better than most how the two have to work together.
Ellie - the first Rottweiler
Laura got her first Rottweiler, Ellie, who went on to become a Pets as Therapy dog. Ellie lived happily with Laura, her husband, and four children.
Toby - the soul dog
Laura got her second Rottweiler, Toby. By 2013, life was full: a young family, four dogs, obedience club as a hobby, and regular fostering for a rescue charity.
Skye - a birthday to remember
For Laura's 30th birthday, she got Skye - a Collie-Lab cross, just like Benji. A very special birthday present, and a dog who would become a huge part of Laura's world.
Saying goodbye to Toby & Ellie
Toby was lost very suddenly in 2019, breaking Laura's heart. Ellie followed in 2021. Laura was left with one dog, Skye - and a determination to honour their memory.
Lottie & the Tollelite name
Laura got Lottie, her Golden Retriever, and created her Kennel Club affix: Tollelite - a combination of Toby and Ellie, in their memory, that now names everything she does.
Tillie & volunteering
Tillie the Rottweiler arrived - Laura's show girl who attended Crufts. With her children now older, Laura also volunteered at a greyhound rescue for six months.
Maverick & Tollelite K9 Services
Laura got Maverick, her working-line GSD, beginning their journey in IGP. That same year, Tollelite K9 Services was created - completing a mentorship and attending seminars regularly to stay at the forefront of training.
